Mission, Vision and Values

Our mission, vision, and values lay the groundwork for our team, uniting every staff member toward ensuring safety and security for all Aggies.

What We Do

The emergency management process consists of four phases: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery. Once the cycle concludes, it begins anew. Every community is always in at least one phase of this cycle.

Mitigation

We focus on various strategies to either prevent disasters or minimize their impacts. For instance, we collaborate with our jurisdictional partners on projects that strengthen infrastructure.

Preparedness

On "blue sky" (clear) days, we engage with our internal and external partners to build strong relationships and disseminate information to our community. We develop comprehensive plans and conduct training through drills, exercises, and workshops.

Response

In the immediate aftermath of a disaster, our priority is life safety. We activate the plans we have prepared, take necessary actions to protect lives, and provide timely information to the public.

Recovery

Once the life safety concerns are addressed, we focus on recovery. This step involves working to restore normalcy through rebuilding and restoration programs. The recovery phase can be prolonged, and we typically begin implementing our mitigation and preparedness strategies simultaneously.
